Welcome back to another Freedom Works blog and we hope last week’s blog on The importance of community and social interaction was particularly useful for those who have been either self isolating/working from home.

Considering the latest updates from the government regarding the Covid-19 situation, we felt it was best to give the wider community more of an insight into our #stayconnected Slack channels which our Freedom Works team have been busy both creating and building up!

What is Slack?

Slack is a collaboration hub where the right people and the right information come together, helping everyone get work done.

What are the #stayconnected channels?

Here at Freedom Works Community it remains at the heart of what we do and we’re working closely as a team to make sure we can all still collaborate virtually in anyway possible.

In light of this we have created two kinds of community platforms to aid our members. The first is a channel on Slack for each space: #stayconnectedgatwick, #stayconnectedchichester, #stayconnectedworthing and #stayconnectedhove

The other is a Freedom Works group on LinkedIn where businesses can make connections, new and old, share challenges and ask for advice! To benefit, please see link here:https://www.linkedin.com/groups/12382014/

What kind of posts will be on the #stayconnected channels?

As always it is our duty here at Freedom Works to encourage collaboration, networking and social interaction between like minded business people. In order to fulfill usual Freedom Works collaboration, our Community Managers will be sharing a wide range of posts to assist, advise and motivate you through these uncertain times.

Members of our Slack channels can expect to see the following:

  • Business advice and support - ‘hot off the press’ - as we hear about it, we will pass it on to you!

  • Virtual Free Beer Fridays- Community Managers across the spaces will continue to celebrate the end of a working week with a beer but this time through a Zoom virtual call. A link will be shared every Friday morning with details on how to join each meet up.

  • At home recreational activity advice- Through both the #stayconnected channels and #FreedomWorksCommunity our team will be sharing some of the most creative ways you can keep occupied in out of work time. Whether this is a live fitness class with the likes of The Body Coach, Joe Wicks or an online pool tournament! Keep your eyes peeled for some top entertainment.

  • General socialising- Regardless of Freedom Works now taking a more virtual approach we still want to hear about what you have been up to? Some challenges you may be facing and of course in order for this to be a social interaction this has to be a two way communication so ask us questions like we will be asking you!

  • Network as usual- It is the perfect time to reach out to potential clients, offer free 1:1 virtual consultations and attend local networking virtual events together as so many business people will now solely be working online! Just the other day a Hove based Freedom Works member reached out to the community to provide 1:1 free of charge team coaching sessions and we just know this will be a hit!

So, you may be wondering just how can you access these amazing channels?

Fortunately, you can still become a virtual member of Freedom Works for FREE! By signing up you can join our network consisting of 1,500 members across our spaces and join our Slack channels!

*Click on the top right hand corner of our website page on ‘Become a Member’ to sign up to benefit! *
